A set of protocols and accompanying forms and instruction have been developed by KHH with the support of the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment’s Saving our Species Program, and with broad consultation. Protocols cover non-invasive (scat-based) sampling; clinical examination and collection of opportunistic samples form koalas in care; collection of data and samples from koalas captured for research; and koala post-mortem. http://koalahealthhub.org.au/sampling-protocols

They are intended to instruct and to facilitate standardised collection of quality material for research to maximise benefits from any interaction with koalas. They are living documents so if you have constructive feedback on the documents please contact damien.higgins@sydney.edu.au
